In the state's 14th Congressional District, New York businesswoman Tina Forte earned the party's nomination on Tuesday night.

With a 67%-31% victory over Desi Joseph Cuellar, a resident of Queens, Tina Forte won the Republican nomination on Tuesday.

Following the nomination, Forte congratulated her Bronx and Queens supporters on Twitter on Tuesday night.

Forte wrote on Twitter that "high taxes, increased violence, subpar public schools, and restrictions on our freedom will no longer be tolerated in New York."

The prominent Progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the current representative for the 14th District.

The 14th District comprises parts of the eastern Bronx and central Queens.

Forte is a long shot to defeating AOC in November; he participated in the Jan. 6 uprising at the U.S. Capitol.
